When I found some very tiny fabric pieces(3~4cm) with vivid lovely pattern on it, I couldn't stop thinking about patching them together. Its actually done many years ago but I still use it~

Tidy up the seams to avoid bulkiness.

If you are going to use bias tape around the seam, you can stack like this. Top, battings, and lining.

But,note that if you are going to sew around the yellow dots leaving opening window, the right side of top and right side of lining should face each other with battings resting at the bottom. This photo may misleading you. It's taken before flipping the top over.

A step worth the bother is to cut the battings as close as possible to the seam line and make plenty of notches to ensure natural look without bulkiness or crease when turned over.

Close the window with blind stitches and as a final touch, do the running stitch(quilting) for decoration.
